Tuesdays are ordinary days. We don’t associate anything good with Tuesday (except maybe double-shots on the classic rock station) and that’s the point. Tuesdays are routine, even mundane. We get up, go to work or school, come home, watch some TV, and go to bed. You could probably sleepwalk through most Tuesdays.
We expect God-experiences on Sundays, not Tuesdays, but God is there on Tuesdays too. We tend to think about God during the big moments of life (good or bad), but God is with us in the boring as well. Because we typically find only what we are looking for we often miss God in the ordinary. But He’s right there, sometimes waving His arms trying get our attention. Still we miss Him. I am convinced that life is much richer when we begin to find God on Tuesdays.
So I present Tuesday Thoughts – a series of mostly unrelated reflections from one who is looking for God and His way, not just on Sundays, but the Tuesday moments as well.

Tuesday Thoughts have been written for the weekly newsletter of my church’s youth ministry since August 2007. While I originally write these with youth in mind, I edit for a larger audience before posting here. Please forgive me though if I miss a youth-specific reference from time to time.
